Summer Reading Program

      Join the Club! Explore the Wonders of Nature at the Lac du Bonnet Library this summer! Our Summer Club will be running every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., July 2nd to August 15th.  There will be fun activities, nature walks, stories, games, snacks, prizes and more! The program is open to all children, ages five to twelve. Visitors to Lac du Bonnet are most welcome! This is a drop-in program, but in order to be better prepared, pre-registration is greatly appreciated. Registration sheets are available at the Circulation Desk. If you have any questions or want to register your child, please stop by the Library or give us a call at (204)345-2653.

New Canadian Fiction

Darwin Little writes Vostok, a Zack Starr novel.  NASA has uncovered a large magnetic anomaly located on the shores of Lake Vostok 4,000 meters below Antarctica ice.  Follow Zack Starr as he pursues the trail of a young scientist and her two friends who have been abducted.  Add to this a Russian billionaire with an audacious plan for the rich possibilities suggested by the magnetic anomaly buried beneath Antarctica.

New Junior Books

Angry Birds Furious Fowl follows the adventures of Red Chuck, Bomb, Matilda, the Bad Piggies and the rest of the crew as they fall down harder than a wooden tower filled with green pigs.

Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka continue the Runaways series with Runaways That Was Yesterday.  A ghost from their past returns with an ultimatum!

New Fiction

Iris Johansen continues the Kendra Michaels series with the sixth book Double Blind.  Hired Gun for the FBI and the CIA, Kendra continues to thrill in this “predator and prey” page-turner.

Dead Man’s Mistress by David Housewright continues the McKenzie series.  Rushmore McKenzie, an occasional unlicensed private investigator is trying to solve the theft of three priceless paintings.

Greg Iles inserts a diminutive story into the Penn Cage series with The Death Factory.  The former prosecutor must find a way to prevent an imminent travesty of justice as his ailing father holds his secrets close.
