Library Corner for the week of March 29, 2021

Fun books for the kids!

At the request of our Grade 3&4 classes at Centennial we’ve purchased two Official Fortnite books, Battle Royale Survival Guide and Supply Drop.  The LEGO enthusiasts will love 40 new designs found in Brick Beasts by Kevin Hall. Each design includes step-by-step building instructions.

Biographies, Cookbooks & more

Who doesn’t want to cook a meal with only 5 Ingredients?  We have Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredients: Quick and Easy Food cookbook!  Each recipe comes with a full-page photo and pictured ingredients.  New to our biography section we have Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s In My Own Words and Canadian author, singer, and actress, Jann Arden’s If I Knew Then.  CBC’s Canada Reads contest was held this March, and we have two of the short-listed books on our shelves, Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots and Two Trees Make a Forest by Jessica J. Lee.  Jessica J. Lee embarks on a journey to discover her family’s forgotten history and to connect with the island they once called home. Taiwan is an island of extremes: towering mountains, lush forests, and barren escarpment.  Lar Kepler has released his newest in the Linna series, Lazarus.

Do you have DVD, CD, Blu-ray, XBOX, XBOX 360, PS3, PS2, PlayStation, Wii, or Nintendo Game Cube disc that is scratched and unplayable? We have a disc repair machine.  If the scratches aren’t too deep we may be able to repair them
