Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club begins in only two weeks! If your child loves to read, play games, or make crafts, be sure to register them for the Summer Reading Club at the Lac du Bonnet Library! Like last year, we will be offering kids take home activities every week that can be picked up at the Library and reading logs can be submitted online for a chance to win really cool prizes! Additionally, this year we will be hosting a virtual story time every Thursday morning on zoom! National Indigenous Day

With National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21st, the Library has compiled a collection of literature on Indigenous, Inuit, and Metis culture, heritage, and history. This display includes books for readers at every age. This collection includes books such as; The Inconvenient Indian (Thomas King), Bad Medicine, Bad Judgment, and Bad Law (John Reilly), Where are the Children? (National Archives of Canada), Black Water (David A. Robertson), the “Indigenous Communities in Canada” series (written by various authors), When We Were Alone (Julie Flett and David A. Robertson), As Long as the Rivers Flow (Larry Loyie and Constance Brissenden), and Hiawatha and the Peacemaker (Robbie Robertson and David Shannon).
