Library Corner for the week of October 4th

October is Canadian Library Month!  All month long, libraries and library partners across Canada are raising awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadian Lives.  More than just a place to find books, libraries promote cultural awareness, engage in the community, provide educational programs, support freedom of expression and so much more.  Keep using the services that your local library provides, not just in this month, but every month to make sure you are keeping them going!

New Fiction

Enemy at the Gates is the 20th in the Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series.  Kyle Mills continues with the fictional assassin and top CIA operative Mitch Rapp as he struggles to work with a newly elected president while hunting for a high-level mole with access to nation-toppling government secrets.

Lightning Strike by William Kent Krueger is the prequel to the Cork O’Connor series of mysteries.  It is a story of a young man and his home town on the cusp of change.

Parker’s Jesse Stone series.  Mike Lupica continues with police chief Jesse Stone.  The town of Paradise receives a tragic shock when the mayor is discovered dead, his body lying in a shallow grave on a property on the lake. It’s ostensibly suicide, but Jesse’s has his doubts.

Spy, Spy Again is third in the Family Spies series by Mercedes Lackey.  Prince Kyril and Tory share the Gift of Farsight.  Their talent only allows them to see what is happening with their immediate family members.

Hidden Salem by Kay Hooper is the first in the Salem series.  FBI’s Special Crimes Unit Grayson Sheridan has learned not to be surprised by the unusual and the macabre, but Salem is different.

Vengewar by Kevin J. Anderson is the next in the Wake the Dragon series.  Two warring nations must somehow set aside generations of hatred to form an alliance against a far more deadly enemy.
