LIBRARY CORNER

by Lac du Bonnet Regional Library

for the week of February 22, 2021

I LOVE TO READ

February is I Love to Read month.  The Library is rewarding one lucky visitor to the Library with a $25.00 Tim Horton’s gift card.  In past years we featured a collection of books for prizes, but not knowing when we would be open to the public again, we decided to go the gift card route this year.  Our draw date is March 1st, so be sure and drop in before February ends.  Centennial School’s Grade 3 & 4 classes has been collaborating with us for weekly online book reviews with our Library Clerk, Larissa Shabaga.  Colter, our Assistant Clerk has been reading stories to their classes.  The students provided the Library with their list of favorite books, and we have picked through our collection to provide the classrooms with their treasures.

COME IN AND BROWSE

Be sure to put your mask on, and come in check out our most recent additions to the Library. It’s been three months of curbside service, so there are lots to pick from!  Authors like James Rollins, James Patterson, Richard Paul Evans, J.D. Robb, Ted Bell all have added to their popular series.  Our younger readers have two new Fly Guy titles to enjoy.  Our Non-Fiction section has a new biography by Alex Trebek. Readers may remember Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret.  She has now added The Greatest Secret to her body of works. This month we are featuring a new author, Mateo Askaripour, with his new debut novel, Black Buck.  Black Buck is a hilarious, razor-sharp skewering of America’s workforce that explores ambition and race, and makes way for a necessary new vision of the American dream.  Reminder that our open hours have changed; Tues & Thurs 10:30 – 7:00, Wed & Fri 10:30 – 5:00 & Sat 10:30 – 2:30. We hope to see you soon.
