Veteran’s Week (Nov. 5th to Nov. 11th)
From the last Friday of October to the 11th of November we wear a poppy to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served and continue to serve so that we may live in peace.
Check our display table set to honour those very special people we proudly remember during Veteran’s Week. In honour of all those who are serving or have served their countries so valiantly, we salute you with the addition of two new books to our collection for your reading pleasure. Everyday Heroes – Inspirational stories from Men and Women in the Canadian Armed Forces; and from Gordon Corera, we have Operation Columba: The Secret Pigeon Service – The Untold Story of World War II Resistance in Europe.
Mark your calendars! The annual Pyjama Storytime at the Lac du Bonnet Library is coming up on November 14th, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Wear your favourite Pyjamas, bring your favourite cuddly friend and come join us for a free evening the entire family will enjoy. There will be stories, games, crafts, snacks, prizes and more! Everyone is welcome!
