2019 Reading Fort Night

Thank you to the 32 children, parents and grandparents who celebrated 2019 Family Literacy Day and joined us for 2nd Annual Family Reading Fort Night at the Library on January 24th.  The children enjoyed s’mores, stories and games around the “campfire” and the reading forts were OUTSTANDING!

Kayla Swayze was the lucky winner who guessed closest to the correct number of popcorn (350) in the pail and she was delighted to take home the pail with 365 pieces of popcorn!

After building the spectacular reading fort Isabelle MacKay was the lucky winner of the attendance book draw.

We hope to see you in January 2020 for another FAMILY FORT NIGHT!

Family Fort Night 2018

A report forts A Report fire at fort night A Report 3 girls A Report 3 boys

We welcomed 15 participants to the Family Fort Night on January 25th in conjunction with Family Literacy Day.

The theme of the evening was “outdoor adventure” while volunteer Marina Milne led the story around the “campfire” as the children had smores!

The families made reading forts that took over the Library and read stories until volunteers Marina and Georgia Milne helped clean up just in time to have the pretend bonfire!

The MacKay family won the pretzels as they guessed the closest number of pretzels. Books were awarded as the attendance draw!
