2021 Summer Reading Club in Review
This year’s Summer Reading Club has been a smashing success! We are so pleased that this summer we are able to meet with kids in person to play games, make crafts, read books, and have fun! Our online Summer Reading Club has been just as fantastic! Every week children meet us on Zoom to partake in different activities like BINGO, scavenger hunts, silly stories, and more!
So far, the kids have collectively read 17,211 minutes since July 7th! With one week left to go, we are very excited to see what that number will grow to!
With next week being our last week of Summer Reading Club, we have a fantastic craft lined up: we will be tie-dying Lac du Bonnet Library Summer Reading Club tee shirts! All children who have participated in this year’s Summer Reading Club will be invited to tie-dye their own shirt and then join us at the wind-up for the unravelling!
Overall, we are thrilled at how this summer has turned out, and none of it could have happened without support! We owe a big thank you to Centennial School for allowing us to use the pavilion at their playground, thank you to the parents, guardians and their children for joining us this summer, and thank you to Lily Hodgson and Larissa Shabaga for coordinating this year’s Summer Reading Club!
